Describe the desired visual result
Bead-blasted and sandblasted terms may be used broadly in inquiries. Identify the appearance you want through a sample and ask the supplier to confirm the proposed finishing process. Texture, colour and reflectivity should be reviewed together rather than accepted from a process name alone.
Specify the fabrication context
State whether flat sheets or completed components are needed. Mark visible areas, bends and joints and explain whether adjoining pieces need a consistent appearance. Ask how finishing and fabrication are sequenced for the proposed component and where sample approval fits into that sequence.
Retain the material specification
Keep grade, thickness, dimensions and quantity separate from the finish description. Describe exposure and cleaning conditions for review. Agree sample identity, surface protection and appearance acceptance before ordering a production quantity.
Keep these details together.
- Physical texture and colour reference
- Proposed finishing process
- Grade, thickness and component dimensions
- Adjoining pieces and sample approval
