State the required surface system
Anti-fingerprint is an appearance-related finish requirement. Identify the base texture, colour and the proposed treatment separately. Ask the supplier to name the offered finish system and provide care information for it. The label alone should not imply one universal coating construction.
Discuss the application and cleaning
Explain how people will touch the surface and how it is expected to be cleaned. Request a physical sample for the project’s review. Avoid assuming that fingerprint resistance establishes chemical resistance, abrasion performance or a maintenance-free surface; these are separate matters to confirm.
Check the process after fabrication
For formed or assembled components, discuss the sequence of cutting, forming and coating. Mark visible edges and joints. Confirm whether the sample represents the final finish and identify how surfaces will be protected during handling, installation and transport.
