Hairline Stainless Steel Sheets
A directional surface for sheet and fabricated components. Mark the grain on the panel layout so adjacent pieces are reviewed together.
What to put in the quotation request
| Appearance | Reference sample, grain direction and visual consistency |
|---|---|
| Material | Specified grade, thickness, size and quantities |
| Fabrication | Cutting layout, bends, returns and visible faces |
| Approval | Sample reference, viewing conditions and protection |
The photograph is an appearance reference. Confirm the substrate, coating process and sheet format with the quotation.
Coordinate the finish
with the fabrication.
Hairline and brushed stainless steel are common search terms for directional decorative surfaces. Those terms alone do not define one identical appearance. Record the required texture, reflectivity and grain direction with an agreed sample. Include the final orientation of panels if several sheets will sit next to each other.
In a fabrication inquiry, show bends, returns and the main viewing face. Ask how the grain direction will be carried through the cutting layout. For matching replacement work, send a retained sample where possible and describe how the new panels meet the existing installation. Avoid approving a bulk order solely from a photograph taken under different lighting.
Are all brushed finishes visually identical?
No. Use a sample and a clear directional reference when matching sheets or panels.
Why does grain direction matter?
It affects how adjacent panels look under light. Mark the intended direction on the layout.
Useful specification notes.

Include the material, finish, dimensions, quantities and destination.
