Stainless Steel Honeycomb Panels
A panel is more than its facing sheet. Put the facing, core, backing, bonding system and edge details on the same specification.

| Facing | Grade, thickness, finish and visible direction |

| Assembly | Core material, backing, adhesive system and total thickness |
| Geometry | Panel size, returns, joints, openings and quantity |
| Project evidence | Complete build-up, sample and specified test requirements |
Keep the full assembly
in the specification.
A stainless steel honeycomb panel inquiry concerns a composite assembly. Describe the stainless steel facing, core, backing and the required finished thickness as separate items. Add panel dimensions, edge returns, joints and fixing details. Two quotations with the same face finish can cover different constructions and should not be compared as equivalent.
Project drawings should identify the supporting substrate, access requirements and the installation location. Ask for the proposed panel build-up and samples before accepting a price. Any requested test evidence needs to relate to the offered complete construction. A material statement about one layer is not a substitute for documentation about the finished panel.
Is the face sheet thickness the total panel thickness?
No. State both the visible metal thickness and the overall finished panel thickness.
Does the metal face establish the panel fire classification?
Do not infer an assembly classification from one layer. Request the evidence specified for the complete offered panel.
